When will my child start school?

Most children start reception full-time in September after their fourth birthday.  For example if your child turns 4 in June, they'll usually start school in September that same year. 

If your child was born between 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023 they will be eligible to start school in the school year beginning September 2027.

When Can I Apply for a Year R School Place?

The national main round application window to apply for a Year R place for September 2027 opens on 1st November 2026, and closes on 15th January 2027.

Do You Have Open Days or Parent Tours For Prospective Year R Parents?

We offer our prospective Year R Parents a tour of the school led by the Headteacher.  We offer several dates for these tours, with each tour limited to a small number of parents, as our parents tell us that they feel more comfortable asking questions in smaller groups.

What Happens On A Parent Tour?

Our Headteacher, Mrs Wake will take the small group of parents around our school to see it "In Action", so parents can view the fun and exciting things our children get up to during their learning.  You will also be able to see our classroom environment, facilities and view our school grounds which are larger than many people think.  Mrs Wake will be able to tell you more about our curriculum, school ethos, aspirations and behaviour policy during the tour.

How do I book onto a Tour?

Booking is essential to join a school tour.  We use Eventbrite as our booking system.

How do I Make a Year R Application?

The application process for a Year R place varies depending on the council area you live in, as you must make an application with the County Council that you reside in.
